DIY Wedding Storybook Binding
There are some components of a wedding that are better done by hand. This includes the storybook, which can combine text and photos to retell the events of that memorable day. There is a way to bind a storybook using a few common craft materials. Whether the wedding book is brief or long and detailed, the handmade touch will render it a priceless jewel of a gift for the bride and groom.

1
Place two holes in each page of the storybook with a hole puncher. The holes should be at either end of the binding area, one at the top and the other at the bottom. Measure the distance between the holes according to the length of the page, leaving at least 1 inch between the hole and the book's edge. For example, if the pages measure 6 by 8 inches, the holes will be approximately 4 inches apart.

2
Buy a spool of decorative ribbon that matches the wedding decor. Since delicate fabrics, such as silk, tend to unravel, purchase ribbon that is strong enough to serve as the book's binding material. Cotton and canvas are durable enough.

3
Cut a piece of ribbon that measures three times the length of the book's spine. Using sharp craft scissors, rather than dull ones, is important in preventing the ribbon from becoming frayed.
-
4
Pull the ends of the ribbon through the punch holes so that the length of the ribbon lies across the back cover of the book rather than the front. Then tie a knot in the center of the distance between the two holes on the front of the book. The knot will hold the spine together, so it should be secure.

5
Squeeze a pea-sized dot of hot glue from a hot glue gun onto the knot and, before it dries, tie the rest of the ribbon into a bow. Lightly press down on the center of the bow until it adheres to the glue and knot underneath. If necessary, trim the ends of the ribbon, making them equal lengths on both sides.
