How to Activate Malice As a 2H Hammer
Similar to other artifacts in "Dark Ages of Camelot" (DAoC), Malice's Axe cannot immediately be used after being acquired; three scrolls must be acquired before it can be activated. All of these scrolls are found on enemies in Typhon's Reach, the same area that Malice's Axe is found. The axe version of Malice is the default type, but other versions of the weapon can be acquired. Any class capable of wielding two-handed (2H) crushing weapons can activate it as a hammer instead. Malice's Axe is available to all three factions in DAoC.

- Level 47 Hero or Champion (Hibernia faction)
- Level 47 Shaman, Healer, Warrior, Thane, Skald or Berserker (Midgard faction)

Kill Ausar Siam-He Warriors and Nebkare Siam-He Warriors in Typhon's Reach until you find the "Story of Malice 1 of 3" scroll. The enemies that carry the scrolls are not very difficult but are at a high level. You want to take a group of people at Level 47 or above to kill them.

Kill Taur Teletes and Taur Craftsmen in Typhon's Reach until you find the "Story of Malice 2 of 3" scroll.

Kill Taur Soktos or Ausar Siam-He Priests until you find the "Story of Malice 3 of 3" scroll.

Go to the Hall of Heroes in the capital city for your faction.

Talk to Scholar Brivela or Scholar Torradan to activate Malice's Axe in Albion. Talk to Sage Girom or Sage Aideena to activate it in Hibernia. Talk to Loremistress Hetha or Loremistress Marga to activate it in Midgard.

Click the two-handed crushing icon in the list to activate the two-handed hammer version of Malice.

Tips & Warnings
You can trade your current version of Malice's Axe to a scholar to activate a different version of the weapon. Doing this causes the experience earned with the weapon to reset. Malice's artifact weapons are the slowest ones to earn experience, so you want to be sure you activate the correct version when you acquire it.
