How to Decorate Guest Bedrooms in Black & White
Black and white is a classic color combination that can be used in just about any style of decor, from contemporary to art deco. Another bonus is that it's quite easy to find decorating elements in black and white in every price range. Even though these two colors are extremely versatile, however, you may find it hard to decorate a guest bedroom with these shades. Since a guest bedroom should ideally be welcoming, visually appealing and relaxing, it's best to add in touches of another color to complete the space. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Balance the amount of white and black you use to keep the room from looking too heavy. For example, if your bed frame, dresser and side tables are black, use white curtains and bedding to lighten up the room. If your furniture and walls are white, using black linens, rugs and window treatments would work well. Another option is to use bedding, rugs or linens that contain both black and white, such as a zebra print, checkered or striped pattern. This will not only add visual interest but also texture to your guest room.

2
Pair the black and white scheme with another color to bring interest to the guest bedroom. You can choose just about any color you'd like as black and white are the most versatile shades used in decorating. For a splash of dramatic color, consider chartreuse, yellow, deep orange, fuchsia, cobalt or red. If you want a more subtle effect, consider light blue, lavender, rosy pink or light gray.

Use accessories that contain your accent color, as well as bits of black and white. For example, if you're decorating with black, white and fuchsia, a black photo frame embellished with fuchsia gems, a white vase with fuchsia stripes, or a pillow in a pattern that contains all three colors would tie your theme together nicely.

Avoid painting all of the walls in your guest bedroom black; doing so will make the space look quite small. If you insist on doing so, use white trim around your windows.
Alternatively, paint just one wall black; this is known as creating an accent wall. If you prefer, you can paint the walls white, and add color to them with artwork or wall hangings that feature your accent color.

5
Add amenities to the room in your color scheme that guests will find useful, such as a coat rack, hooks to hang clothing on and a storage shelf or cabinet that holds extra bedding and towels; many of these items are readily available in black and white. If possible, consider also placing a black or white mini-fridge in the room with bottled waters and juices for guests to enjoy.
