How to Make Your Own Invitations With CS2
Creative Suite 2 (CS2) is a collection of graphic design, video editing and web creation applications created by Adobe Systems. The package includes various applications including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, as well as Acrobat, which are all commonly used by graphic designers to create print designs such as invitations. If you are working with Adobe CS2, you can use the various tools and applications provided to create impressive invitations to any events that you can either send by e-mail in PDF format or print to send by mail.

Determine which pictures and images you want to use to create your invitations. For a more creative look, you can choose to edit bitmap images in Photoshop by opening the images in Photoshop and using the tools desired to create the images. If you want to create a background, you can use the tools in either Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to create the background or other images.

Save Photoshop files in the .psd format to be able to import them into the design later. Save any Illustrator files as .ai documents.

Open Adobe InDesign to begin creating the invitation and laying out the images and text. Navigate to the "File" menu and select the "New" option. Name your document "Invitations" and insert the width and height measurements for the new document as desired. Select the orientation for the design which can be landscape or portrait.

Enter in the margin settings for the document. Generally, you should keep the margins between 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch. Click "OK" in order to view your new document in InDesign.

Insert any images from Photoshop into the InDesign document. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Place." Navigate to the location where you saved the Photoshop file and select the file. Click "Open" to insert the file in the document. The image will appear in your InDesign document, but will seem to be attached to your cursor. Move your cursor along the page in the desired location and click in the spot to place the image.

Open the Illustrator documents containing images and any other files you have created in the software. Copy and paste the vector illustrations into InDesign.

Resize any images in InDesign using the Free Transform Tool. Click "E" on your keyboard to select the tool. Drag the handles on the corners of images while holding down the Shift key to scale images proportionally. Click "V" on your keyboard to select the Selection Tool and place the images in the desired locations in InDesign.

Click "T" on the keyboard while in InDesign to select the Type Tool. Click and drag in the desired location to create a text box. Type in the text for your invitation and format the text as desired. Use the options in the properties bar located at the top of the InDesign document to resize the text and chose fonts.

Highlight the desired text to change the color of the text and change the color for the Fill Color in the left side bar in InDesign.

Save your document as an InDesign file in the desired location on your computer. If you want to send the file by e-mail, you can save a second copy of the document as a PDF file that you can attach to e-mail messages. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Export" to save the document as a PDF.
