How to Become ASE Certified in Augusta

ASE certified automotive technicians are often more trusted with their skills and abilities.

An ASE certification is given by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Automotive technicians who have an ASE certification are important in the world of mechanic jobs, and having an ASE certification can make you more desirable as a potential employee. ASE certifications can be earned in Augusta, Georgia, but keep in mind that having previous mechanic knowledge and courses is almost mandatory to earn an ASE Certification.

Instructions

1. Enroll for ASE testing when you are confident in your automotive abilities. You can register for ASE testing online or by phone(see Resources). When signing up for a test in Augusta, you need to choose testing center number 0852.

2. Choose the ASE certification you want to test for. There are a total of eight different ASE tests: Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train/Axle, Steering and Suspension, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Electrical Systems, Heating and Air-Conditioning, Brakes and Engine Performance. Passing one of these tests is enough to earn an ASE Certification. You may take all eight of the tests to earn an ASE Master Certification.

3. Once certified, you can begin looking for an automotive job to begin building your experience. You need a total of two years automotive experience before you are ASE Certified. Then you may send in your application for ASE Certification.
