1
Store your angel food cake at room temperature in your pantry for up to two days. Angel food cake is less dense than most cakes and loses moisture quickly. Wrap the cake immediately after it cools to maintain a moist consistency. Wrapping the cake while still steaming will trap moisture under the plastic and result in a soggy cake. Place the plastic-wrapped cake in your pantry for a maximum of two days.

2
Refrigerate your angel food cake for up to one week. Repeat step one and place the wrapped cake inside a cake box or airtight container to protect against squishing. Keep the cake moist by storing the cake box inside the high-moisture drawer of your refrigerator.

Freeze your angel food cake for four to six months by double wrapping it with plastic wrap and storing it inside a freezer-ready zip-seal plastic bag. Expel the excess air from the plastic bag and place in a hard, airtight container to prevent accidental squishing. Temperatures closest to 0 degrees Fahrenheit will keep your angel food cake fresh for up to six months.
