How to Record Cell Conversations
If you are receiving harassing or threatening phone calls, or are using your cell phone as a business line, you may want to think about ways to record your phone calls. A few phones have the ability to record calls through their menus, but most cell-phone users who want to record their cellular calls will need to buy extra equipment or software. You can protect your business interests by keeping recordings of your conversations.

1
Check your phone's menu to see if it has the ability to record phone calls to a memory card. Some cell phones have a recorder function built right into the device. Try hitting the "Options" or "Menu" button during a phone call.
-
2
Purchase call-recorder software. There are call-recorder applications available for smartphones. Try searching the software market for your phone's operating system.

3
Turn on the phone's speakerphone and use a voice recorder. The downside to this method is that a phone's speakerphone tends to pick up noises in the environment, and the person on the other end of the call may hear the recorder.

4
Purchase a cellular microphone for your voice recorder. Microphones designed for recording cell calls fit into your ear. The lead plugs into the microphone jack on the voice recorder. You can still hear the person's voice, and your voice is loud enough to be picked up by the mic.

5
Purchase a three-way splitter designed for recording cell-phone conversations. These splitters use the headset jack on your cell phone. The 2.5- or 3.5-millimeter male input plugs into the headset jack, and the 3.5-millimeter male output plugs into the voice recorder. There is also a 2.5- or 3.5-millimeter female output connection for plugging in a headset.

Subscribe to a call-recording service. There are many call-recording services that allow you to record your cell-phone conversations. Most of them work by the caller dialing a specific line before they dial the number they want to call. Some work on only outgoing calls. Be sure to check the agreement carefully, since some services charge by the minute.
