How to Wakeskate
Wake skating is similar to both water skiing and wake boarding. One of the biggest differences is that wake skating boards have no bindings to hold feet to the board. People with experience wake boarding or water skiing may be able to adapt their skills to wake skating. Experienced wake skaters can perform many of the same tricks as skateboarders.

1
Get in the water beside the boat. Place the wake skating board on the surface of the water with the grip side facing up. The board should be perpendicular to the boat. Lie face up on the surface of the water. Put your heels on the surface of the board.

2
Grip the handle on the rope with both hands. Hold the handle near your navel. Signal to the driver of boat to start moving. This will place some tension on the rope, so keep a firm grip. The board will start to turn up against your feet as the boat increases speed. Bend your knees and allow your body to move into a squatting position. Hold the rope in front of your knees.

Stand up by straightening your knees. Apply more pressure to your back foot than to the one in front. Hold the rope near your hip. Practice crossing both wakes, and then move on to other tricks.
