Corner Bakery Bread & Dessert Maker Instructions

Corner Bakery Bread & Dessert Makers are available from either Breadman or Toastmaster. These bread machines simplify what used to be the time-consuming and tedious process involved in making bread. But with the advent of the bread machine, making bread is simply a matter of adding the ingredients and pressing a button. These machines also come in handy for making doughs and desserts. Whether you have a Breadman or a Toastmaster model, the instructions are the same and easy to follow. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Place the bread machine on a countertop or other stable surface, making sure that it's not in a spot where it can come into contact with liquid of any kind.

    • 2

Open the lid and use the handle to remove the pan. Insert the kneading blade, with flat side down, onto the shaft in the pan.

    • 3

Pour the ingredients for your recipe into the pan. Begin with the water, followed by the dry ingredients and finally (for bread recipes) the yeast on top.

    • 4

Place the pan back into the bread machine so that it's firmly seated in the unit. Be sure that the side of the pan marked "FRONT" is facing the front of the machine.

    • 5

Shut the lid of the unit, and plug it in to an electrical outlet.

    • 6

Select the desired program: "Basic" for most bread recipes using white flour and yeast, as well as many packaged bread mixes; "Sweet" for recipes calling for more sugar or fats; "Whole Wheat/French" for recipes using whole wheat flour or those that are lower in sugar and fats; "Insta" for recipes calling for higher quantities of dry, active yeast; "Dough" for recipes that will later be baked in an oven (rolls, bread or pizza crust, for example); "Butter" or "Butter Churn" for churning cream to make butter; or "Dessert" for cake mixes, pie fillings or other desserts. In the Breadman machine, there is an additional program called "Fast Bake" for quick breads and other recipes that take less than one hour to bake. Select the baking control -- either Medium, Light or Dark. This control influences the color of the bread crust. The machine will default to medium, so it's only necessary to select a baking control if you want either the light or dark option.

    • 7

Press the "Start" button to begin mixing the ingredients. If you selected the "Basic" program, the bread machine will continue mixing, kneading and baking until your loaf of bread is done. If you selected any of the other programs, the machine will beep to alert you when it's time to add more ingredients during the process.

    • 8

Press "Stop" after the machine beeps, indicating that the bread or dessert is done. Using hot pot holders, remove the pan from the machine (be careful -- it's hot). Turn the pan over and shake it gently to remove the bread. Unplug the machine.
