How to Create Ports on a Linksys Wireless Router
"Port forwarding" is the term given to creating and opening ports on a router. Linksys wireless routers have an interface that allows you to create several opened ports. You use port forwarding to allow Internet traffic to access your network. For instance, creating and opening port 80 allows you to host a Web server on your local network. Users from the Internet are not blocked by the Linksys firewall. Instead, the traffic is forwarded to your Web server.
