While a cool beer on a hot day can be very refreshing, people often equate warm beer with bad beer as it is no longer appetizing. Whether barbecuing, tailgating, at the beach or camping, keeping beer cans cool is one of the challenges. While those at home have access to refrigerators in the kitchen and possibly the garage, others must rely on simpler methods of keeping their beer cans cool, including strategically placed ice and cans.   • Cooler
  • Ice
  • Foam insulated beer cozies

Instructions

      Fill a cooler with a layer or two of ice depending on size and place a few beer cans in the cooler. Add another layer of ice and pack more beer cans. Repeat this process until the cooler is nearly full. Pack the cooler with as much ice as will fit while still leaving room for the beer cans.

      Pack another cooler with bags of back-up ice so you will be able to keep restocking the cooler with fresh ice.

      Place foam-insulated beer cozies on the top cans in your cooler. Use the cozies with every layer of beer cans you come to as you work your way down the cooler.

      Keep the cooler in a chilled area for as long as possible until needed. This can include a refrigerator, in front of an air conditioner or in an air-conditioned car. Place the cooler out of the hot sun whenever possilbe to slow the melting of the ice.

Tips & Warnings

  • If possible, research the area you will be using the beer cooler in for nearby convenience stores and places to get ice in case you run out or the ice melts sooner than you had planned.
