Place the paper on a flat, level surface. Fold the paper diagonally. Unfold the paper. Grasp the right side of the paper and fold it so that the top-right corner forms the tip of the triangle and the right edge of the paper hits the center fold. Fold the left side of the paper so that the bottom-left corner forms the tip of a triangle and the left edge hits the center fold.

Turn the paper a 1/6th turn so that the center of the parallelogram is parallel with the edge of the table. Fold the paper through the center lengthwise so that the tip pushes upwards and the edges point downwards. Unfold the fold and create a new fold halfway between the line from the center fold and the edge of the paper. Create another fold halfway between the line and the center fold.

Turn the paper so that the back faces you. Create a valley fold between the edge of the paper and the first fold. Repeat this process on the other side of the paper. Turn the paper so that the front faces you. Create another valley fold, between the edge of the paper and the nearest fold. Repeat this process on the other side of the paper.

Unfold the paper completely, so that it is a square. Turn the paper clockwise by a quarter turn. Repeat the entire folding process. Crimp the paper halfway between the center point, where the diagonal folds meet and the edge of the paper so that the area pushes upwards. Repeat this process on all four sides of the paper.
