Anyone with an ebook reader or a computer will be able to read your ebook.

If you run your own website, an ebook can be a great companion to the information that's already available on your site. Perhaps you want to share a short story you wrote with friends -- or even a novel you wrote with the customers on Amazon. If you're looking to do one of these things, you'll need to make an ebook. The first step, of course, is writing the ebook. After you've finished writing and editing, you can use Adobe to create an ebook out of the file.

Instructions

    • 1

Start Adobe Acrobat. If you don't already own the full-featured version of the program, you'll need to purchase it from the Adobe website. As of March 2011, the cost is $199 for the professional version.

    • 2

Click "File," "Create PDF," then "From File." This tells Adobe Acrobat you want to create your ebook from a pre-existing document.

    • 3

Choose the file you want to create an ebook from and click "Open." This will bring up your document as a PDF file.

    • 4

Click "File," then "Save" to save the document as a PDF, which most ebook readers will be able to read. You may want to upload your ebook to a website such as Amazon if you're looking to sell it.
