How to Decorate a Kid's Room in a Hunting Theme

If your child enjoys hunting, decorating his room in a hunting theme honors his hobby and commitment. Even better, this theme can easily adapt to a teenager's room with only a few substitutions. By addressing the main aspects of his room, including the walls, furniture and carpeting, you can quickly incorporate a hunting theme. Add a few accessories to create a personal touch and a dream bedroom for your young hunter.

Instructions

1. Incorporate a hunting-themed wall treatment into the room. Add paneling to the walls to emulate a hunting lodge or add a decorative border. Paint the room in green, or use a camouflage template. You can also use a textured effect to make give the room the feel of a forest.

2. Include an eye-catching light fixture. Chandeliers in the shape of antlers are readily available from hunting and specialty shops.

3. Add wooden furniture such as a wooden bunk bed or loft bed. Add wooden nightstands and a dresser. Attach wooden shelves to the wall. Place a wooden gun cabinet in the room for his toy guns. Add camouflage wallpaper to personalize a nightstand or table.

4. Throw a faux fur bear rug on the floor. As an alternative, use a rug that picks up the color of the wall, or use a camouflage print.
