Instructions

    • 1

Set the frame saw stop on 43 cm. Cut two lengths of wood 43 cm long. Set the frame saw stop on 14 cm. Cut four lengths of wood 14 cm long.

    • 2

Mark both 43 cm lengths of wood with pencil at 4 cm, 13, 17, 26, 30 and 39 cm. Place the 4 cm lengths of wood perpendicular to the two long lengths of wood. Align the short pieces between the marks on the 43 cm pieces of wood.

    • 3

Assemble the pieces on a table and verify that the parts line up properly. Place one short piece at each end and two in the center to form three openings that are each 9 cm wide. Apply glue to the top each short piece of wood to glue it to the long piece.

    • 4

Glue the other long piece to the other end of the short pieces of wood. Clamp the frame at each corner. Allow fast drying glue to dry at least three hours.

    • 5

Sand the frame using fine grit sandpaper for a smooth finish. Apply a wood stain to match decor and wait for the stain to dry. Finish the collage frame with a sealant or a satin finish polyurethane gloss and allow to dry.

    • 6

Cut a piece of card stock paper 42 cm wide and 13 cm tall. Place your photographs face down on the back of the frame over each opening. Tape each photograph to the back of the frame at the top and bottom. Place the card stock paper over the photographs on the back of the frame and secure with a small staple. Attach picture hanging wire to the back to hang the photograph frame.

Tips & Warnings

  • Assemble all your pieces prior to gluing to ensure that the short piece of wood that form the frame are equal distances apart.

  • Begin gluing the frame pieces by gluing all the short lengths of wood to one side of the frame and then the other.

  • Use protective eye wear when using a saw.
