Instructions

    • 1

Use the back of the hammer to remove any nail still in the wall. Place the back of the hammer over the nail so the hammer prongs surround it. Then pry the nail out.

    • 2

Sand the surface around the hole with the sandpaper until the surface is smooth. The edges of the hole should be flush with the rest of the wall and should not protrude. Gently wipe away any drywall or paint flakes with a soft cloth.

    • 3

Dip the tip of the putty knife into the putty and put a small amount of putty on the tip. Carefully place the putty directly over the hole.

    • 4

Use the other side of the putty knife to spread and smooth the putty into and over the hole. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the putty in the hole is flush with the rest of the wall.

    • 5

Allow the putty to sit until firm to the touch. Use a small paintbrush to apply a coat of primer over the putty. Allow it to dry fully before proceeding.

    • 6

Use a paintbrush to apply a coat of paint that matches the wall over the putty. After the first coat is dry, add another coat, if needed.

    • 7

Repeat these steps as needed for additional nail holes.
