How to Get Information for Old CDs in iTunes
When you purchase songs and albums from the iTunes store, iTunes lists a lot of information about the songs, including the artist's name, the album, the year released and the genre. You can import old CDs into iTunes, but the CD does not contain the same song and artist information as a downloaded song. If you have iTunes configured properly, it will check an online database and add all of the artist and song information automatically. iTunes can add the information for most commercially produced CDs.
