How to Make a Portfolio for the Webelos' Artist Badge
The Webelos are part of the Cub Scouts, which is a division of the Boy Scouts of America. Webelos are fourth and fifth grade Cub Scouts. One badge requirement is the art requirement, where boys build a portfolio of various art projects and artist interviews to share with their Cub Scout pack. The Den Leader, who helps the boys through their Cub Scout journey, will approve the portfolio and help the boy fill in any missing parts.

1
Buy a photo album. Choose an album which will hold a standard eight and a half by eleven sheet of paper. The album may have detachable pages or fixed pages. A binder with removable page protectors may work. Ask the den leader for specific album requirements.

2
Interview a local artist or an art teacher. Ask about different career opportunities in the world of art. Direct questions toward the artist's personal journey, such as where he attended school or where her art has been sold. Ask pointed questions which will help a reader understand the journey through the world of creating art. Place the interview in the album. Ask the den leader if the interview should be hand written or typed for the portfolio.

Finish the scrapbook with five options from the Webelos handbook, such as original nature drawings or lists of primary and secondary colors. Use a computer to make a creation and print it out to place in your portfolio. Create a clay structure and take pictures for the portfolio, or bring the creation to the den leader. When the portfolio is complete, show the finished product to the den leader for credit.
