1
Prepare the setting by placing bouquets of flowers all around the room. Use real flowers for the scent. Choose cheap flowers, such as daisies and carnations, or pick fresh flowers and colorful weeds. Have the tea party outdoors during good weather. The elements of nature becomes the setting for the tea party.

2
Set up a table that fits every child around it. The children need to interact and not be separated at different tables. Cover the table with a lace tablecloth. Each child gets a place setting with a china cup, saucer and plate. Purchase mix-matched china from a local thrift store. Give each child a cloth napkin. Toss glitter around the table. The glitter sparkles from the sun or lights in the room.

Set up a smaller table for the fairies. This table could be from a child's tea set. If outdoors, use a tree stump or large rock if one is available. Give each fairy a place setting. Use small leaves for plates and acorn tops for cups. A child's tea set would work, too. Toss more glitter around the fairy table.

Prepare the food for the guests at the fairy tea party. If serving real tea, choose fruity teas and provide sugar cubes and milk or cream. Children prefer the sweeter taste. As an alternative option, provide ginger ale with Kool-Aid or lemonade mixed with it. Make finger foods for the guests. Serve plenty of fresh fruit because fairies love fruit.

5
Provide costumes for the guests. Costume ideas can be given to parents before the party so the children come dressed for the occasion, but not every child will have the means to make a costume. Find frilly lace dresses at thrift stores. If boys are attending the fairy tea party, find grey or tan slacks and suspenders. Give the girls parasols to block the sun.

Make party favors for the guests to take home after the fairy tea party. Fill mesh sachets with glitter and dried flowers. Call it "fairy dust." If possible, give each child a four-leaf clover. Use fake ones if real four-leaf clovers can't be found. Tell each child that if they sit in a field while holding the clover, fairies will come and visit.

Tips & Warnings
Play fun music after eating. Let the children dance and sing to the music. Fairies love to sing and dance so maybe they will join the children in the fun.
China plates and cups are breakable. If anything breaks, immediately clean it up and do not let the children touch the broken pieces.
Do not let the children throw the glitter at each other. It might get in their eye. They will be covered in glitter by the end of the tea party without needing to throw any.
