How to Fertilize and Feed Pineapple Guava Shrubs

Pineapple guava shrubs, also called feijoa, are native to South America, including Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, where they grow wild. The plant is evergreen and semi-tropical, growing well in the United States Department of Agriculture hardiness zones 8 to 10. The pineapple guava has showy flowers and edible fruit.       Check the growth of the feijoa. The plant grows slowly, but if you want it to grow more quickly you can add extra fertilizer. If your feijoa is small, the extra boast might help.

      Sprinkle 3 to 4 tbsp. of 8-8-8 fertilizer around the base of the pineapple guava shrub every two to six months.

      Water the ground around the feijoa in a diameter of about 3 feet for five minutes. This allows the fertilizer to soak down to the roots of the plant.
