Rabbit enthusiasts may enjoy being a rabbit judge.

If you love rabbits and enjoy rabbit shows, you may want to become a rabbit show judge. Rabbit show judges assess a variety of rabbit breeds according to show criteria. To become a rabbit judge you need to be certified by the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

      Become a member of the ARBA. All judges must be members of the ARBA. To become a member, fill in the application on the ARBA website and pay the fee. The cost of membership is $20 per year or $50 for a three-year membership. A husband and wife can become members for $30 annually or $75 for three years.

      Become a registrar. All judges with the ARBA must first hold the position of registrar for a minimum of two years. To become an ARBA registrar, members must register a minimum of 35 rabbits and receive an endorsement from 20 ARBA members.

      Attend the ARBA judge's academy at Fresno State University in Fresno, Ca. To attend this training you must contact the executive director of the ARBA in order to register. There is a registration fee of $100.

      Pass the ARBA judge exam. Following your training at the judge's academy, you must pass a written and oral exam. You must do so within three years of completing the academy training. If you do not pass the exam, you may retake it, but if you fail a second time, you must wait two years before reapplying.

      Judge a minimum of eight all-breed shows. During these first eight shows, you will work with experienced judges. After your first eight shows and after judging at least 20 breeds, you must obtain an endoresement from six judges. After this you, will be eligible to work as an ARBA judge.
