Stopping Payment on Bank of America Credit Card
Bank of America is a financial institution that offers a variety of credit cards. If you are a Bank of America credit card holder and you want to stop payment on a credit card charge, you can dispute the transaction by calling the Bank of America customer service number. Before disputing the transaction with Bank of America, however, you should contact the merchant and attempt to resolve the dispute.

Call Bank of America at 866-266-0212. You must notify Bank of America of the dispute within 60 days of the statement date with the disputed charge.

Initiate the dispute by telling the customer service representative that you are disputing a credit card charge.

Provide the customer service representative with the date of the disputed charge, the amount of the charge and the name of the billing merchant. Explain in detail why you dispute the charge.

Wait for Bank of America to mail you information about your dispute. You can expect to receive this notification in approximately 10 to 14 business days. Read the information from Bank of America. The notification will summarize your dispute based on the information you provided to the customer service representative.

Sign and date the dispute forms. At the top of the form, you will find a return to address. Mail the signed forms to this address. Bank of America must receive the signed forms to continue processing your dispute.

Wait for Bank of America to finalize your dispute. You will receive notification by mail in approximately 30 days from the date Bank of America receives your signed dispute paperwork. The notification will detail the final result of your dispute. If Bank of America accepts your dispute, you will receive a permanent credit for the charges on your next billing statement.
