Get your iPod working again by resetting it.

The 80 GB iPod classic holds hundreds of songs from your favorite artists, giving you a mobile source of entertainment. Under ideal conditions, your iPod classic works normally, with no errors. Occasionally, though, the iPod may lock up while playing a song, or when you try to access a menu. This does not indicate a major problem with the iPod; it is possible to fix lock-ups by just resetting the device.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the iPod to a charger, if the device has low battery power. Charge the iPod by connecting the USB charging cable to any computer.

    • 2

Slide the "Hold" switch, on the top of the iPod, to the "HOLD" position, then slide it back to its original position.

    • 3

Hold down the "Center" and "Menu" buttons together for six seconds. Wait for the Apple logo to appear. The iPod is reset.
