Notice the tubing, usually copper, that runs through the side wall of the cabinet to where the dishwasher is located. This tube is the water supply for the dishwasher and is connected to the hot water shutoff valve. Remove the end of the tube from the shutoff valve using an adjustable wrench and by turning the fitting counter-clockwise.

Locate the drain hose for the dishwasher, which is a ribbed hose that is connected to the sink drain or garbage disposal, if there is one. Use a pair of standard pliers to squeeze the clamp at the end of the drain hose together to loosen it. Pull the drain hose off of the garbage disposal or the drain pipe while the clamp is loose.

Open the dishwasher door and locate the two screws that are underneath the top edge of the dishwasher. These two screws secure the dishwasher to the countertop. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws. Pull the dishwasher out of its cavity and properly dispose of it.
