How to View Partition Contents

View the files inside hard disk partitions.

Disk partitioning is when a user divides the main hard drive into separate parts or partitions. This extends the functionality of your hard disk. For example, you can use the partition as another hard drive. Just as you can view the files you in your main hard drive, you can also view all of the contents in your partitions. The "Computer" folder ("My Computer" in Windows XP) is the location that displays the partitions on your computer.

Instructions

1. Go to the Windows Start menu in the task bar.

2. Click "Computer" from the Start menu. This will display hard all of the external devices, drives and partitions on your computer.

3. Right-click a partition and select "Open." This will show you all of the contents in the partition.
