Sunbeam Waffle/Sandwich Maker Instructions

Sunbeam manufactures a lot of products aimed at making cooking convenient. Two of those products are their Belgian Waffle Maker and Sandwich Maker. Each device requires that the food be encapsulated within two pre-formed plates. This speeds up cooking and creates the desired appearance of the food. Both the Sunbeam waffle maker and sandwich maker will allow you to make up to four servings at a time. The plates are non-stick, so clean up shouldn't be a hassle. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

  1. Sunbeam Waffle Maker

    • 1

Plug the power cord into the power outlet. Turn the knob to the "On" position.

    • 2

Turn the temperature knob to your preferred setting. Preheat the waffle maker until the green light illuminates.

    • 3

Prepare your waffle batter. To make classic waffles, mix two eggs, 1.25 cups of milk, 3.5 oz. (100 grams) of melted, unsalted butter, 1 tsp. of vanilla extract, 1.5 cups of self-raising flour and 2 tbsp. of sugar in a bowl. Then pour the batter into a large jug.

    • 4

Open the waffle maker and use a pastry brush to coat the plates with cooking oil, or spray the plates with cooking spray.

    • 5

Pour in enough waffle batter to fill the lower plate. The peaks in the plate should be covered with batter. Spread the batter evenly across the plates with a spatula.

    • 6

Close the top lid of the waffle maker. Use the handle to rotate the waffle maker 180 degrees. Allow the waffles to cook according to your recipe or your preference.

    • 7

Hold the handle and rotate the waffle maker counterclockwise back to the starting position. Then open the lid. Remove the waffles with a non-metal utensil.

    Sunbeam Sandwich Maker

    • 8

Plug the Sunbeam sandwich maker into the power outlet. When the ready light illuminates, it is ready to use.

    • 9

Butter the outside of each piece of bread. Only butter one side. The filling of your sandwich -- meat and/or cheese -- must be placed between the unbuttered sides of the bread.

    • 10

Open the Sunbeam sandwich baker when the ready light is on.

    • 11

Place the buttered side of the bread onto the cooking plate. Add the filling. Set the top slice of bread on top of the filling; the buttered side of the top slice of bread must face upwards.

    • 12

Close the lid and allow the sandwich to toast for approximately three minutes. Open the sandwich maker and remove the sandwich from the cook plate with a wooden or plastic spatula.
