The gauge cluster on your Hyundai Tiburon is one of the easier components to customize. Changing the color of your cluster is one of the more popular options. This can be achieved through two simple methods: changing the bulbs to colored bulbs or, changing the face of the cluster to a tinted face. The entire procedure is very simple and should only take 15 minutes or so to complete.
Things You'll Need
- Socket wrench
- Phillips screwdriver
- Colored bulbs
- Replacement cover face
Open the hood. Disconnect the Tiburon's battery using a socket wrench.
Remove the two screws securing the plastic cover to the instrument cluster with a Phillips screwdriver. Pry off the plastic cover above the cluster.
Remove all four of the security screws from the cluster itself. Disconnect the cluster's electrical wiring harness and remove it from the Tiburon. At this point, you can remove all of the bulbs from the rear of the cluster and replace them with new bulbs, or you can pry off the cover from the cluster and install a tinted cover. Use a slotted screwdriver to pry off the cover, but be careful to not break the cover when removing or installing it.
Reinstall the cluster and reattach the screws. Place the plastic cover back into its original position and reattach its screws.
Reconnect the Tiburon's battery and close the hood.
