Repair your torn jeans with an iron-on denim patch.

There are few things as frustrating as finding a tear in your favorite pair of jeans. Jeans will inevitably succumb to wear. Unfortunately, it is often only after months or even years of wear that a pair of jeans becomes very comfortable. If your favorite and most comfortable pair of jeans has developed a tear, you can use an iron-on denim patch to repair the hole, and avoid throwing them away, at least for a little while longer.   • Ironing board
  • Iron-on denim patch kit
  • Iron
  • Scissors

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn your jeans inside-out. Place your jeans onto the ironing board with the tear in the jeans facing up, toward you.

      Turn the iron to the setting required by the instructions listed in the iron-on denim patch kit. Place the patch over the tear in the jeans. Once the iron has had five minutes to warm up, iron the patch onto the torn area of the jeans. Iron over the patch two or three times until it has bonded to the denim. Leave the patch to cool down for 10 minutes.

      Turn the jeans right-side-out. Trim any loose or frayed edges around the patched hole with a pair of scissors.
