Cheesecake can be packaged and kept fresh for days or even weeks.

Cheesecake can go bad easily if it's not properly packaged. Many people simply stick it in the fridge on a cake stand or plate but without covering it fear of ruining the topping. The key to properly and safely storing a cheesecake is to keep the topping separate from the cake. When it comes time to cut and serve the cake, add the topping to each sliced piece. Instructions

      Allow the cheesecake to cool completely to room temperature.

      Place the cheesecake directly on top of a sheet of plastic wrap. Pull the sides of the plastic wrap up and over the cheesecake to encase it tightly. Use more wrap if necessary to ensure that the entire cake is sealed.

      Wrap a layer of aluminum foil over the plastic-wrapped cheesecake.

    • 4

      Place the cheesecake in the refrigerator for up to a week, or place it in the freezer for up to two months.
