How to Unclog a Drain Using Jell-O
Clogged drains can be caused by a wide variety of issues or substances, including food, hair, body waste, toys, small objects, utensils and more. While there are many chemical substances that can be used to unclog drains, there are some other solutions that do not use chemicals and may be less expensive as well. For instance, the gelatin in Jell-O, when combined with vinegar, keeps the vinegar in position within the drain to loosen the clog without any chemical products and is a relatively simple and quick solution. Mix together 1 box of powdered Jell-O, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar. Mix together and allow the Jell-O time to solidify into the gel format. Place the Jell-O into the refrigerator to set faster.

Pour the Jell-O mixture into the drain.

Allow the mixture at least 30 minutes but up to several hours to work.

Rinse the drain with hot water.

Repeat as necessary until the drain is no longer clogged.
