How to Put on a Roman Toga
Roman togas were the garment of choice for the nobility and aristocracy during the Golden Era of Rome. Since then, they have become fun and simple novelty costumes for parties and themed outings. The outfit itself is very simple to assemble. There are some thicker materials that can be used, but a toga can be made out of a simple bed sheet and a few safety pins and ropes. Though a traditional Roman toga would not require safety pins, it is a useful precaution for the more modest party goers. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fold the sheet long ways, holding it up against your body. The bottom of the sheet should touch the floor barely when the folded crease is held against the chest of the wearer. It is advisable to have a friend help, as it is difficult to do this yourself.
-
2
Hold the top right corner of the sheet against the center of your back. Wrap the bed sheet around your body about one and a half times until the cloth is in front of the left shoulder. Don't make it so tight that you can't breathe, but make sure it isn't so loose so that it is in danger of falling apart.

3
Drape the material over your left shoulder and pull the end of the material diagonally across your back. Tuck in the tail of the material into the top of the wrapped cloth and secure it with a safety pin.

4
Tie a cord or any other rope-like material around your body, outside of the toga. Then, blouse the material over the cord until the toga is the desired length.
