How to Iron a Patch
An iron-on patch can be used to cover up a hole in an article of clothing or to embellish an old or worn garment. There are many types of patches including military patches, artistic patches, religious patches and biker patches, just to name a few. Iron-on patches are also featured on some sports teams' uniforms, as well as on uniforms like those of the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Does this Spark an idea?

Adjust the iron's settings to cotton or high temperature.

Place the piece of clothing receiving the patch on the ironing board. Lay the piece of clothing down flat and place a pillowcase over the place where the patch will be attached.

Apply the iron to the pillowcase and hold down for 10 seconds to pre-heat the area where patch will be applied.

Lay the patch on the pre-heated area of clothing, cover with pillowcase and apply iron for 15 to 20 seconds.

Remove pillowcase and set article of clothing aside for an hour to allow the patch to fully set.

Tips & Warnings
For delicate garments, use a lower tempurature setting. Fabric or iron-on adhesive tape can be used for DIY patches.
Be sure that patch and garment are dust free so the patch will adhere properly.
