How to Frost Pumpkin Cookies for Preschool
Pumpkin cookies make the perfect dessert for a Halloween or fall preschool party. The cookies, made primarily with sugar, cinnamon and pumpkin puree, will create a sweet surprise with children once they are decorated as spider webs. Use black and white frosting to create a spooky web design on the cookies once they cool, and a toothpick to ooze it all together. Make the cookies ahead of time and refrigerate them to harden the icing before sharing with the preschool class. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Spread white frosting over the pumpkin cookie. The frosting should be 1/4 inch thick.

2
Create the spider web by drawing three or four circles on the cookies with black gel icing. Start along the edge of the cookie and draw a large circle. Draw another circle inside the large circle with a small amount of space between the two circles. Repeat with one or two more circles, each one getting slightly smaller as they move in toward the center of the cookie.

Drag the icing and blend together using a toothpick. Place the tip of the toothpick in the center of the cookie and carefully drag the toothpick to the edge of the cookie in a straight line. Turn the cookie slightly and repeat until the toothpick has created four thin lines through the web. This creates a web-like appearance.
