How to Level a Wood Subfloor
Leveling a wooden subfloor will require accessing the floor from underneath. It is also good to have an additional person with you to tell you when each section of the floor is level. This job requires tools that are found around the house. A level floor is necessary if you plan on installing a wooden floor or a veneer floor. Does this Spark an idea?

Check all the floor for level. This needs to be done every 3 or 4 feet so that you can determine exactly where the problem is.

Open the access to the crawl space under the floor. Once you are under the floor, lower the light into the space and have your partner tap on the floor where the first area is not level.

Locate the tapping of your work partner. Place the shim between the floor joist and the subfloor. Gently tap the shim into the space. The shim is shaped like a miniature wedge and will slide between the two sections of wood easily. Continue this process until all the floor is leveled.
