How to Change the Admin Console Password For JBoss

Save

JBoss is a Java EE based, open source application server made by Red Hat. Changing the admin console password is not difficult. The password is stored in the file "jmx-console-users.properties." Once you have access to this file, you can open it with a text editor and change the admin password.

  • Log in to your server and open the root directory.

  • Open the path "server > default > conf >props/" and look for the "jmx-console-users.properties" file.

  • Open "jmx-console-users.properties" with a text editor such as notepad. You will see a list of user names and passwords in the format of "username=password."

  • Delete the password for the admin console account and type in a new password.

  • Upload the changed file back into the props folder.
