Export your browser bookmarks. Most people have important information encoded as bookmarks, which could disappear or become corrupted during the reinstallation of Internet Explorer. To accomplish this step, click "Favorites" in the Internet Explorer window. Click "Import and export," "Export to a file" and then "Next." Select "Favorites," click "Next" and then select the folder to which the bookmarks will be backed up. To complete the process, click "Next," "Export" and then "Finish." Internet Explorer will create a file named "bookmark.htm" in the chosen folder, containing a copy of all your bookmarks.
