A Uniden NASCAR scanner is a radio that can automatically scan frequencies for NASCAR and other automobile races. The device can also scan police and fire department frequencies, NOAA weather transmissions, utility companies, amateur radio, railroads, and business and industrial radio transmissions. When you hear a signal that is interesting, you can save it in the device's memory, so you can return to it whenever you want. If the scanner is experiencing a problem, or if you want to delete all the programmed frequencies from memory in preparation to sell it to someone, you can easily reset the device.
Step 1
Plug one end of the included AC adapter into the Uniden NASCAR scanner, and plug the other end into an electrical outlet if you want to run the scanner on household current.

Remove the battery cover and set the battery switch to "Reg.Alk. Batt" when using non-rechargeable batteries or "NI-MH.Batt" when using rechargeable batteries. Then, insert two AA batteries if you want to use battery power. Slide the cover back on.
Step 3
Press the "2," "9" and "Hold" keys. Continue to hold them while pressing the "Power" button for at least three seconds, until the display reads "Clear." The Uniden NASCAR scanner is now reset and all data that was previously programmed has been erased.
