How to Reinstall XP Pro Using a Dell OEM CD
Every Dell computer that shipped from the factory with Microsoft Windows XP installed also included a CD with a copy of Windows XP. This CD is essential for when Windows XP becomes corrupt or needs to be reinstalled. Reinstalling Windows XP Pro takes about 15-30 minutes, depending upon the speed of the computer.

Insert the Dell-provided Microsoft Windows XP Pro disc into the disc drive.

Press the "F12" key a few times to trigger the boot menu.

Select the disc drive with the arrow keys, then press "Enter."

Press the "Enter" key when prompted to begin the Windows XP Pro installation process.

Choose the hard-drive location and press "Enter."

Enter a username after the computer restarts.

Configure the date and time settings.

Insert the Dell-provided software and drivers CD after Windows installs to complete the setup of the computer.
