How to Print 6x11 Size Postcards

How to Print 6x11 Size Postcards thumbnail
Traditional postcards don't usually come as large as 6x11.

There are thousands of postcards to choose from should you want to mail one out. If none of those are appealing to you, or you just want to add your own personal touch, you can make your own postcards. The ability to design your own postcards includes the ability to make the postcard any size you please. Though traditional postcards are generally no bigger than 4.5/6 inches, you can easily make a 6x11 postcard if that is what you want.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a picture or pre-made design that you want to put on your postcard. Make any color or other adjustments that you wish to it.

    • 2

Load your 6x11 card stock into the printer. If you do not have card stock this size, cut larger card stock down to size instead.

    • 3

Open the software for your printer and make necessary adjustments. Some have a special postcard printing template that you can use. Others will ask you to manually put in the measurements of what you are trying to print. If this is the case, for height, put in 6, and for width put in 11. If you want your postcard to be taller than it is wide, put 11 in for the height and 6 in for the width.

    • 4

Place the 6x11 cardstock into your printer. Make sure the paper guides are adjusted to hold the cards in place.

    • 5

Select the number of postcards you want printed.

    • 6

Press print. Your postcards are now done.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may want to print only one postcard to start to make sure that you have aligned the cards properly in your printer. If it prints properly, then start the print process again with the amount you want. If it does not print properly, try aligning the cards again.

  • When you adjust the paper guides in your printer, make sure you don't do it too tight. It should be flush, but not enough to hold the cards back. Making the guides too tight against the card can prevent the cards from going into the feeder.
