How Do I Remove iTunes 5 From Computers?

ITunes lets you arrange and listen to your favorite music.

With iTunes, it's possible to transfer music from your computer to your iPod. As of March 2011, the latest version of iTunes is 10.2.1. If you have version 5, you may want to remove it from your computer to upgrade to the latest version.

Instructions

1. Close down the iTunes 5 application, if it is running. Click "Start," then "Control Panel."

2. Click on "Programs," then click "Programs and Features."

3. Click the entry for "iTunes," and click "Uninstall." A notification box appears, asking if you want to remove the program. Click "Yes."

4. Wait for iTunes to uninstall. If you are asked to restart the computer, click "No." Look at the programs list again, and uninstall any iTunes-related entries or update applications.

5. Restart the computer. If desired, download and install the newest iTunes.

Tips & Warnings

• If you uninstall iTunes version 5, your songs won't be deleted, since they are stored in the "My Music" folder.
