Most municipalities throughout the country allow drivers who have received moving violations to pay their tickets online. This cuts out the need for showing up to traffic court and is usually cheaper because court costs are not included. When you receive a court summons from the officer who pulled you over, it will typically include a web link where you can pay the citation before the court date. You must decide whether you think you'll be better off paying the citation in advance or showing up to court to contest it.

Instructions

1. Find the website address to the court system of the locality in which your moving violation occurred. This may be on the ticket itself, or you can do a simple check using your favorite search engine.

2. Locate the court in which your trial will be held. Some typical examples are circuit court and general district court.

3. Click on the selection or tab that allows you to search court cases by name.

4. Type your last name, then first name, separated with a comma. For example: Smith, John.

5. Allow your search results to compile, then find the correct infraction and click on it.

6. Click the tab that allows you to pay the citation online.

7. Follow the directions and include all information, including your name, amount to pay and your credit card information.

8. Save a copy of the confirmation after the payment processes.
