How to Change the Color of a Picture in Paint
Paint is a basic Windows utility that allows the user to create pictures. You can use the program's tools to draw your own images or import pictures or photos from your computer's hard drive to edit. It's possible to change the color of drawings, paintings or photographs using the software's editing tools. You can use the pencil tool and brushes to add finer detail or change blocks of color with the fill tool.

Click on the Windows "Start" button and enter "Paint" in the search box.

Click on "Paint" from the menu to open the software and either draw a picture using the program's tools and brushes or import a file to edit. To copy an image from Windows' clipboard, click on the clipboard symbol in the top left-hand corner of the program's window. To import a file from your machine's hard drive, click on the "Paste" button and then on "Paste from" to search your computer.

Select a color from the color palette in the top right of the program's window and then choose a tool or brush with which to change the color of your picture. Hold down the left mouse key and move the cursor to add color to specific areas. If you want to fill large areas with color, select the "Fill" option from the "Tools" menu and left click on an area of the picture to saturate with your chosen color.

Tips & Warnings
If you're editing a photo, you can use Paint's "Color picker" utility to copy color from one area of the image to another. Select the "Color picker" option from the "Tools" menu and then click on the color you would like to copy. Move the mouse pointer to the area you would like to color and left click to fill or brush.
