Program your Alpine SEC-8428 remote to protect your vehicle.

The Alpine Electronics of America company was founded in 1978, and has produced high-performance mobile electronics ever since. One of their products is the Alpine Alarm SEC-8028 system, which includes the Alpine 8428 remote. The remote controls the functions of the alarm, such as when it is activated, and when it is shut-off. Once you have installed the alarm unit to your vehicle, it's time to program the remote.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the vehicle's key from the ignition. Put the vehicle in "Park." Get out and close all of the vehicle's doors.

    • 2

Press the "TX PANIC" button, located in the bottom-right corner of the 8428 remote, once, to arm the alarm in the vehicle.

    • 3

Check all the features of the alarm, to ensure it's working. Its siren will go off once, the vehicle's parking lights will flash once, the doors will lock and the alarm's LED will flash once.

    • 4

Disarm the alarm by pressing the "TX PANIC" button, before you attempt to enter the vehicle. The control's LED will light up, to indicate the test is taking place.

    • 5

Look for the siren to sound twice, the vehicle's parking lights to flash twice, the doors to unlock and the alarm's dome light to light up. These signs indicate it is safe to enter the vehicle.
