How to Close an E-ZPass Account

E-ZPass is an electronic toll system operating in several Northeastern states. Electronic toll systems allow you to prepay tolls using a small, electronic transmitter installed in your vehicle. Tolls are automatically deducted from your prepaid account every time your vehicle passes through a participating toll plaza. If you are an E-ZPass customer, you can close your account at any time by contacting the E-ZPass customer service phone number and returning your electronic transmitter.

Instructions

1. Call the E-ZPass customer service phone number at 888-288-6865.

2. Tell the customer service representative that you would like to cancel your E-ZPass account.

3. Bring your E-ZPass transmitter to an E-ZPass customer service center. Alternatively, you can mail the transmitter to E-ZPass at:

   New Jersey E-ZPass Customer Service Center,

   P.O. Box 52003

   Newark, NJ 07101.

4. Receive your refund by mail. E-ZPass will automatically send you a check for any prepaid balance remaining on your account. E-ZPass will mail the check within 30 days of receiving your E-ZPass transmitter.
