A college degree in liberal arts is an achievement to be proud of, and this should be reflected on your resume. A degree in a liberal arts subject like history, English or philosophy demonstrates marketable skills, such as problem-solving and critical thinking, that are of long-term value to employers. Emphasizing such skills makes your BA in liberal arts shine on your resume.

1. Display your skills. Critical and original thinking, effective written and oral communication, and the ability to interpret and assimilate complex ideas are just some of the skills you have acquired while studying for your liberal arts degree. These skills are highly valued by employers according to Quintessential Careers. List your skills in a "Career Profile" or "Professional Skills" section and position them at the top of your resume if you have no relevant work experience. Always include marketable skills, such as computer literacy, that are not directly related to your college major.

Someone applying for a job as a museum administrator, for example, could provide information about courses taken in American history, including the period studied and insights gained.

4. List extra-curricular activities. That independent research paper you presented to an undergraduate conference might seem like a dim memory now, but it still has the power to impress your prospective boss. Include sporting achievements; these demonstrate commitment and discipline.
