How to Disable Right Click in Your Internet Explorer Toolbar

If you own a computer, you likely have your particular preferences for how each program is configured. This may also be true for your Internet Explorer toolbar, which can easily be modified by right-clicking it and changing its options. If you have a set way that you like your toolbar to be and do not want others to change it, you can disable the right-click options via the registry.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Start," type "regedit.exe" without the quotes and press "Enter." This will open the Registry Editor.

    • 2

      Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer."

    • 3

Right-click the right-hand pane. Select "New," followed by "DWORD."

    • 4

Type "NoToolbarCustomize" in the "Name" field. Type "1" in the "Value" field.

    • 5

Close the registry and restart Internet Explorer. You will still be able to right-click the toolbar, but all of the changes you were able to make before will be disabled.
