How to Decorate a Seashell

If you enjoy collecting seashells to use as decorations in your home, you know how difficult it is to find the perfect shell to match your home decor. One way to add a personal, artistic touch to the beauty of seashells is to decorate them. For example, you can add glitter glue and beading to conch shells to make them look like they are covered in jewels or pearls.

Things You'll Need

• Large seashell
• Glitter glue
• Pearl beads
• Plastic jewel beads

Instructions

1. Place a large seashell onto a flat surface, like a table top. Choose a shell that is interesting and colorful, such as a conch shell.

2. Identify the natural lines of the shell, such as a slope that leads up into a point or a spiral that winds into the tip of the shell.

3. Squeeze a line of glitter glue along the natural lines. These lines of glitter glue can be straight--following the slopes--or spiral--following the curls and twists of the shell. Be creative.

4. Place pearl beads or plastic jewel beads onto the glitter glue lines. This will make the slopes and spirals of the seashell look as though they are encrusted in jewels or pearls.

5. Allow the glue to dry completely before displaying the sparkly seashell in your home.
