Most people are familiar with using satellite technology to get television channels from around the world. The technology also can be used to get Internet access. The process is not difficult. It requires subscribing to an Internet Service Provider in addition to having a satellite dish.

1
Call for service from a satellite Internet service provider. You can't just tune to a satellite on your own and get free Internet. Companies that provide satellite television do not necessarily offer satellite Internet. Your provider will set up a contract and schedule an appointment to install the dish and hardware needed.

Have the dish installed. This is not something the homeowner can do himself. Let the technician install the dish and make the connections in your house. Drilling small holes in the roof or exterior walls may be necessary.

Connect the computer or router to the satellite connection. If the technician does not do this, it should be simple. There should be a cable connection from the satellite receiver that you can plug into your router's network connection or your computer's network card.
