How to Read the Whole Bible, Three Chapters a Day
The Bible is the primary sacred text to the Christian religion. Many believers and practitioners make reading the Bible a major priority in their spiritual lives. The Bible is composed of two testaments with several individual books in each. All of these books contain chapters that are composed of verses that range from a few words to a couple sentences. Although the Bible is a sizable book, it can be read methodically by creating a plan for daily reading.

1
Designate a particular time to do your reading. This will make it a part of your regular daily routine. Choose a time when you won't be distracted or interrupted. It may be in the morning before you start your day, in the evening as you wind down or anytime during the day when you have some time to yourself.

2
Chart your progress. There are 1,189 chapters in the King James Bible (See Reference 1). Other versions may have fewer or more chapters, but should be around that same number. You can tick off each chapter individually on a chart. Alternatively, you can mark off your weekly quota or other milestones. This will help you see how far you have progressed and how much farther you have to go.

Stay motivated. Some chapters in the Bible have difficult or hard-to-understand language. Get through these parts as best as you can. There are also several instances in the Bible that may cause you to pause and reflect on your religion or spirituality. Take notes as you go to review later and continue reading to meet your daily goal.
