How to Sanitize a Front-Loading Washing Machine
Front-loading washers need to be sanitized on occasion, especially if you notice a musty, mildewed odor. To keep the washing machine free of bacteria you must sanitize in a way that removes any bacterial growth without causing harm to the washing machine itself. Also keep in mind that you should use a mild cleaner that will not affect the next batch of clothing that gets washed in the machine. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Turn on the washing machine with a hot water cycle and large load size setting.
-
2
Pour 2 cups of bleach into the bleach dispenser.
-
-
3
Run the wash cycle. The bleach will sanitize the entire interior of your washing machine.
-
4
Leave the washing machine door open on the unit. Front-loading washers sometimes have a tendency to develop mildew and a musty odor, so by leaving the door open the excess moisture is able to dry.
